Don't Touch That Dial

A perfect recital theme for all ages – everyone watches television and the theme songs from those shows offer the parents and grandparents a sense of nostalgia. You can go from MTV to Star Search, or how about American Idol and then take a stroll down Sesame Street featuring those babies. The Beverly Hillbillies could be a start to a "down in the country" production, and it could include a western ballet to the Bonanza theme. The ideas for this theme are limitless.

Other Great Ideas

Build a big television set and have your classes enter the stage from the inside of the television  •  your program could be set up like a TV Guide  •  you could create little skits based on familiar commercials to help with scene or costume changes   •   you could have a big "on the air" sign located in the auditorium, while the dancers are performing, then you could take it one step further and have an "applause sign!"
